So I will start with Monday. We had TRC which is where you teach an outside investigator and this time we had to speak for 7 minutes in Spanish and then teach the first lesson. We had Napolean, which was awesome because he is from Honduras and he breaks character all the time and he loves to just talk to missionaries. So the whole time we were trying to keep him in character! It's hard to try and teach a fake investigator! Anyways, it was great. I contacted again in Spanish in the beginning and then we taught and then at the end he said, "Are you from Mexico?" and I said, "No why?" and he goes, "You accent is perfecto." I maybe just died a little I was so excited! haha but I am sure he was just being nice, too. He also told us we didnt need to be in the MTC anymore and that we were ready for the mission, which I really disagree with, but whatever. I love Napolean. Also, at the end of teaching him I said "Well, Napolean, you have read 3rd Nephi 11 and you prayed about it, so will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized?" and he said, "YES!" Even though it was fake I was still proud of myself . . . 1 baptism!
Okay, so then I had to go get my immunization charts checked and guess what we forgot mom . . . typhoid. So I had to get a typhoid shot and it KILLED my arm!
Tuesday we have devotionals and we are in the choir, so we are practicing for choir, and we see this guy walking around up and down each aisle with a little mirror on a pole thing, and I just thought it was weird for a second I had never seen them do that. But then I look upstairs and see all these guys in suits walking around with flashlights checking everything. Then we knew it had to be someone important! So everyone started talking and there were some non-believers, but I had faith. 15 mins before devo starts, we all just sing and then the choir director goes "You all know that if an apostle were to walk in we would stand out of respect, right?" haha it was insane everyone was looking at each other like super excited! Then who walks in?? Elder Quentin L. Cook!!! It was amazing, and you could feel it right when he walked in. He is such an apostle, its insane. He had prepared something for us but when he got up there he said he was prompted to speak about something else. I literally have like 4 pages of notes. He is great. If you can look it up and read it you should. OR even better if they have a recording of it you should watch it because guess what...Since I am in the choir they always like to do close ups on the choir and the screens in the gym are probably 100 ft by 100. I NEVER want to be on the screen, but just as luck would have it they start zooming in on my row... then my companions and I.... then JUST MY FACE!!! Everyone came up to me after and was like, "HEY you're the girl on the screen!! haha I died, but my companions were glad it wasn't on them! When we sang "We'll bring the world his truth" we change the words here to "We are NOW the Army of Helaman... and we are now the Lord's missionaries to bring the world His truth" I Loved singing that song; it was so cool, gave me goosebumps.
Last Sunday night, all the missionaries get to watch a movie and we have 4 options so we went to see Legacy. It was like watching a romantic comedy with all those Elders. Every time they kissed in the movie all the elders would whistle and make noises, it was hilarious!
Well, so much has happened this week and I only have 10 more minutes!! Elder Hafen, the one who is super excited about the language but sometimes he gets over excited... he was saying a prayer in espanol and, well, first of all, charity and chastity in Spanish are really similar; so in his prayer he asked for us missionaries to be blessed with chastity. I couldn't really contain myself during the rest of the prayer and neither could my teacher. After that prayer, everyone was kind of bugging him and I said, "Wait, Elder Hafen, we're not allowed to kiss in the MTC?" and he throws his arms up and goes, "NO Hermana McCombs! You've been set apart!!!" He is quite the character.
Well, today is my P-day and we got to go to the temple, which was so nice. We went as a zone and took some pictures afterwards, even though it was snowing little baby snowballs. No bueno. I have been sick this whole week!!! But I am soo grateful I haven't felt sick, I just have a realllly stuffy nose which my comps (I am sure) don't appreciate, cause they have to come with me every time I have to blow it. I am starting to cough a little, but at least I haven't missed any class!! I have been here for almost 3 weeks now I think? I am really not sure at all. The days are so so so long here. I get to do my laundry today and then write and take pictures, then we have class later. You don't really get a full P-day in the MTC, but whatever!!
Okay I love and miss you all! THANKS to everyone who wrote me this week, I LOVE CARTAS!! Send more and if you haven't written me, please do so I can get more addresses!!
